Mr. Alvin Khaw, the founder of AKDA, received a double honorary master's degrees in architecture from the University of North London, the University of London's Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL). As the chief assistant to "pioneer of Singapore planning", Dr. Liu Thai Ker, an internationally famous urban planning master, he participated in the design and construction of many international projects and has a rich architectural design experience.
Mr. Alvin Khaw pays attention to the relationship between architecture and people, environment, and urban development. He has adopted and adapted both Chinese and Western cultural elements, surpassing existing architectural and landscape models to venture into a new form of architecture that integrates practicality and beauty and solves challenging technical problems. In short, he is committed to customising design with both contemporary and local characteristics for every plot.
With design projects ranging from apartments, hotels, shopping malls to entire residential communities, AKDA has a forward-looking vision and developed a successful practice of "green and ecological buildings". In Zhuhai, AKDA broke the barrier of traditional methods to create physical segmentation, recreated the landscape by matching the existing terrain to main building design, and built a mountaintop apartment that conforms to the terrain. Under the guidance of the former chairman of Huafa, the littoral land beside Qianshan River was transformed into Huafa New City.
Today, AKDA has gathered professionals in the field of construction and energy applications, to design remarkable buildings in many parts of the world that have won several international awards.
